Do I see the same doctor every clinic visit?
Up to you! You can choose to see the same doctor for each of your clinic visits or try a different doctor each time. Please let our receptionist know your preference when booking each appointment.

Will I know the doctor who delivers my baby?
Maybe. Our doctors work at the hospital on a call rotation so whoever is on-call at the hospital the day you have your baby will be doctor who gets to meet your baby. 

Can I request a postpartum private room in advance?
No. Due to availability of postpartum rooms, all requests for private rooms can only be made after your baby is born. Your nurse will ask for your preference and let you know if there are any private rooms available on postpartum. All labour rooms are private. 

When do I see my Foothills Maternity Group doctor after delivery?
A team member from the Foothills Maternity Group will round on you and your baby everyday while you are in hospital. Once discharged, you will call the clinic to book your first postpartum visit for you AND your baby at 5-10 days postpartum. 

How long after I give birth can I be a patient at Foothills Maternity Group?
We follow moms and babies until 6 weeks postpartum. After that time, we will discharge you back to the care of your family physician. If you do not have a family physician, please ask your physician for information on how to find a family doctor or search here cfpcn.ca/directory
